Stefal operates in the electrical wiring and electromechanical assembly division for a variety of markets. The main sectors include: professional catering equipment, industrial vehicles, lifting equipment, power electronics and automation. Digitalisation has led to huge growth in the amount of documents, applications and information flows, which often do not communicate between one another, requiring time-consuming human intervention.
How can this disorder be eliminated whilst harnessing the information concealed in this text data, which is generally managed manually, inhibiting process automation? For Stefal, we adopted a “pervasive digitalisation” approach.This involved covering all strategic areas of processes with dedicated apps, from back-office to operations, harnessing and centralising information.
We then passed from digitalisation to datafication, implementing technological initiatives that transform data into the knowledge required to improve processes.The final step involved the introduction of Artificial Intelligence as a tool to dig even deeper into available information assets.
Using Hyperdoc, which is focused on generating value from unstructured documents, we were able to guarantee increased integration and collaboration between various management systems and associated processes at Stefal.
We used a layer of technology pre-configured with extraction engines, in this case based on language models, comprehensively integrated into the main application in use for the orchestration of processes:QualiWare by Analysis Srl.
QualiWare is a software application for management of the entire quality journey, which enables improved information flows, automating them on the basis of company processes.
The result, in this case, is a synergy with exceptional benefits.
Hyperdoc is integrated into QualiWare to provide users with an interface to immediately handle search queries, classifying existing documents by category or content and extracting information that is useful for the process (including certifications, procedures, instructions, plans and records).
Fundamentally, the technology introduced at Stefal make it possible to read and interpret documents and clarify terminology, concepts and specific vocabulary.
Having smoothly handled the introduction Hyperintelligence, ensuring the correct level of governance and continuous improvement of processes and their automation through Artificial Intelligence, Stefal recognised the central importance for adoption of a structured pathway of the commitment of top management for large-scale implementation of initiatives, maximising benefits, and the adoption of a top-down approach to identify opportunities with targeted assets or specific tools.
